The 12th Man.
With a season ending win against the Minnesota Vikings, the Broncos fell out of the top ten sweepstakes and will be selecting #12 in the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. Of course, the Broncos can move up or down - but as of right now that’s where they stand. The Broncos also have the #43 selection overall, which is early in the second round. Until the playoffs are over and compensatory picks are announced, we will not know the exact number for the rest of the selections. However, Denver does have extra picks in rounds four, five and seven - and are without a third and a sixth rounder.
I’m currently on vacation in Minneapolis, MN and recently got back from a trip to Duluth, MN - so I haven’t had internet access for the past several days.
In the weeks to come, I will be pumping out continuous draft coverage regarding the Broncos - regarding potential players of interest and possible trades heard through the grapevine. Past draft news coming from myself include the Broncos looking to trade up for a quarterback, Javon Walker for #37, interest in Tony Scheffler along with the pegging of Ryan Harris and Tim Crowder as two players the Broncos would love back in November of 2006, and the statement of Moss, Harrell and Timmons being three guys the Broncos were extremely high on. (If you don’t believe me, feel free to check the forums!)
There’s no better place for Broncos draft news than the Beat, and I hope you all stay tuned - and I hope you all had a great New Year.
(P.S. - Check for me on MHR Radio in the following weeks!)
