Receivers catching deals, Broncos inactive.

By Christopher Hart

The Broncos are obviously in dire need of a number two receiver next to Brandon Marshall, and some of the options out there to be possible answers to the solution such as Bernard Berrian, Donte Stallworth and Devery Henderson have all signed deals. The Vikings nabbed Berrian and inked him to a six year deal, and the Browns were able to catch Stallworth and Henderson ended up staying with the Saints. By my count, that erases half of the quality options available and only leaves Bryant Johnson (who is in Buffalo as I type this) D.J. Hackett and Keary Colbert as the only other options left for the Broncos who have some sort of potential. I left out Randy Moss, because there is a higher chance of this website exploding than us actually signing him.

First the safety market dwindles, now the receivers are starting to fade away as well. Not to mention all the defensive tackles on the block (Williams, Stroud, Rogers, Jenkins) have all found new homes not anywhere close to Denver.

On a side note, the only action of the day other than the inaction of the team is reports coming out that Ekuban will indeed re-sign with Denver.   Mark that down as a huge signing of Nate Jackson’esque proportions.    You’d figure that the Broncos would have made re-signing their own free agents a priority before they hit the market, but then again – we don’t work that way.

Expect more rumblings throughout the evening.
