According to several reports, Boss Bailey and Marlon McCree will be in Dove Valley this Wednesday. With the free agent pool at safety thinning up, I expect McCree to be Bronco by Thursday morning. Expect Boss to be a Bronco as well and even if the Broncos do sign McCree, Marquand Manuel could still be a depth option at free safety. He is expected to visit Denver this Friday.

If all of those three get signed in addition to Niko and Keary, one could consider the Broncos to have had a simple and effective off-season for the relatively low price. In theory, it’s possible that Bailey, McCree, Colbert and Niko could all win starting positions. At the very least, the Broncos would have addressed several positions of need gaining a starter or two and some valuable depth to have off the bench for less than the price of a big named free agent.
That’s painting a relatively positive picture; considering almost all of the players at one point in time have had some lingering injuries – but there’s little risk in the signings of players who can help the Broncos; especially at bargain prices. Think of it this way. Would you rather have one big named free agent or several mid-level guys who can improve the team? Granted, that’s under the assumption they do help the team – but you get the picture.
Pending what happens with these players, at the end of the week we should begin to see a clearer picture of where the Broncos plan to go in the draft. It already seems as if the Broncos are dedicated to taking an offensive tackle early in the draft and one must suspect defensive tackle as well, considering the state of the depth chart and the situation with Marcus Thomas. Though Colbert was signed and offers potential, wide receiver should garner serious interest early on with the Broncos as well.
We’ll have to wait and see how things shake out, but that’s my take as of now and I’m sticking to it.

I would not mind signing all three.. we could seriously use the safety depth! As for the draft, it does seem clear we will be picking up a DT, OT, and Receiver.. I am not sure what rounds though. We also need to find a kicker.
